Jacqueline's professional skills will encourage the new beginner with a positive outlook towards their own body, a firm knowledge with each dance technique & most of all connecting with her students as part of a group/troupe structure.
Jacqueline has a lifetime career in the creative arts, a passion for dance & theatre. In 2012 she celebrates her 16th year teaching & will release her 1st instructional DVD series of Tribal Jewels Dance Moves. More recently is invited to teach Internationally & nationwide in Tribal Style Bellydance techniques & Contemporary Fusion Bellydance. She first commenced bellydance in 1995 with teacher/friend & mentor, Perla Fefey. In 2004 she opened her 1st dance studio Jewels of the Harem.
Conducts specialty workshops & personally trains teachers & their students locally, statewide & interstate. In 2009, Jacqueline foundered Tribal Mosaic Winter Retreat in an attempt to 'unite' dance troupes & teachers together. The successful retreat weekend enriched the community. Offering a mosaic of activities for all levels along with tasty organic food! The retreat event was a success & highly complimented. The retreat will be held as a bi-annual event on the Tribal Bellydance calendar in Summer 2013. Jacqueline is actively involved in co-sponsoring international master teachers from the USA & co-organising various National Tribal Bellydance events. Jacqueline is experienced in staging at all levels including: stage presentation, choreography, music interpretation, costume design and performance makeup application.
Earlier career in the performing arts. Jacqueline began her lifelong passion for dance from the age of 4 on the Islands of her birth country, Papua New Guinea. Her primary school years were spent on stage from modeling, performing classical ballet. High school years were spent acting & singing as a chorus member with Illawarra's Arcadian Theatre group. At 16 she audition interstate for Melbourne based Contemporary Dance Ensemble at St Martins Youth Arts Centre performing as a cast member for 3 years studying Graham Murphy Technique. A Victorian state finalist in the National Flash Dance competition, she danced in various Australian Film & Television productions such as Countdown, Carsons Law (VIC) & The Brisbane Breakie Show (QLD).
Achievements *Award winner ‘Amera’s Palace Belly Dance Logie’ earned recognition for her consistent study and teachings over the last decade. *Travelled to TURKEY in 2003, researched & studied Bellydance, Cabaret Style.*Teacher training certificate 2004 with Belyssa (AUST - WA) *Personal training with Devi Mamak 2004-2006 (AUST - NSW) *General Skills Certificate 2007 - Carolena Nerriccio & Megha Gavin (from USA). *Collective Soul Certificate 2008 - Gypsy Caravan Paulette Rees-Denis (from USA). *Travelled to INDIA 2009 & 2012 personally trained at Colleena Shakti School of Dance with Gypsy Dancer, Raki *Workshops with Rachel Brice, Blue Damsel, Heather Stants & Jill Parker (from USA) and many others in various styles during her first decade of M.E.D. (within AUST)
